Centralia FFA Chapter

“Learning to do, doing to learn, earning to live, living to serve.” These twelve short words that make up the FFA motto are what the members of the National FFA Organization live by. Not only to better ourselves, but also to better the communities that we live in. When most people hear the letters FFA, they assume that it is about farming and animals. However, it is so much more than that. FFA makes a positive difference in the lives of students by developing their potential for premier leadership, personal growth, and career success through agricultural education.

The Centralia FFA Chapter makes student, chapter, and community development of the highest importance. To encourage student development, members participated in State Convention in May. We did very well and bonded as a chapter. We even earned the right to go to the National FFA Convention in Indianapolis in October. Centralia FFA was able to host our State Officers for a night of team building and goal setting. When the December flood devastated our community, our chapter immediately made plans to assist those in need. We partnered with Chehalis FFA and Chehalis and Centralia Les Schwabs to host a barbecue to raise money for the Lewis County Farm Bureau. We raised over $1,200 in donations. Centralia FFA is also planning on taking teams of members out to Curtis Valley to help the farmers finish cleaning up their barns.

The members of the Centralia FFA are working hard in order to raise money to go to National Convention in Indianapolis. We are recognized as being in the top ten percent of the FFA chapters in Washington. Our chapter has also been recognized as being a gold three star chapter nationally; the highest honor. Although we have many achievements under our belt, we are continuously working harder to be a better chapter and make a difference in the lives of those around us.
